The Department of Home Affairs wishes to inform the public of an adjustment to operational procedure at the Immigration Department.
Due to ongoing challenges with air quality and additional maintenance issues, a dual shift system has been implemented for staff at the Immigration Department in downtown Castries.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of employees and clients, remains paramount. Therefore, to minimize the time spent by individuals within the building, the department will be operating on a one-day-in, one-day-out schedule.
Every effort to accommodate individuals within the Immigration Office before 1:30 pm will be made. However express applications will not be processed unless they are accompanied by medical proof.
In an effort to limit the numbers within the building daily, individuals who have submitted passports for renewal, as well as first time applicants with no immediate travel needs are advised to restrict their collection of passports at this time, unless an urgent requirement arises.
Retrofitting works for the new location of the passport office, are currently being expedited.
The Department of Home Affairs apologizes for any inconvenience this adjustment in operational procedure may cause.
